Fowles Wine Achieves Exceptional Results in this Year’s James Halliday Wine Companion Awards

Thursday, 4 August 2016: The wines have been tasted and the results are in! Fowles Wine achieved truly exceptional results in this year’s James Halliday Wine Companion Awards with its highest ever 97-points wine rating, 14 wines gaining 90+ points and is one of the first winery in the Strathbogie Ranges to achieve a five red star rating.

This puts Fowles Wine in the top 10% of Australia’s wineries according to James Halliday: “[A five red star rating demonstrates an] …outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity. [It] will have at least two wines rated at 95 points or above and had a five star rating for the previous two years”^.

Fowles Wine had five wines that were awarded 95 points including:

“This showcases the strength of our cool climate region, the Strathbogie Ranges, and our winemaking and vineyard team’s ability to consistently produce wines to the highest standard anywhere in the world” says Matt Fowles, owner of Fowles Wine.

“We are delighted with the results this year. As a region, we have been known for producing outstanding Shiraz. This year’s results confirm this as well as demonstrating our strengths across many different varieties” adds Matt.
