2022 was cooler year with late top-ups of rain. This allowed the fruit to develop slowly and produced lovely concentrated flavours in the wine. Yields were lower than normal, leading to great quality. Good sunlight exposure led to nice, pink skins, which is unique to the Pinot Gris grape and can be seen in the resulting wine colour.
To craft this crisp, fruit forward Pinot Grigio, the wine was fermented in stainless steel using cultured yeast to enhance the tropical aromas in the wine. It was then left on yeast lees for three months to build mid-palate richness. A dash of Vermentino (11%) was added to the final blend to contribute some lifted citrus notes and provide some more body.
