Deep red with some purple hues.
Ripe dark plum with lifted florals and hints of vanilla oak and pepper spice.
Juicy dark plum and black cherry underlined with cool climate spice. Medium bodied with lovely integrated oak, silky tannins and peppery spice to finish.
2019 was a hot and dry year with strong winds during flowering. This meant yields were low, leading to high fruit quality. Fruit was sampled regularly to ensure we were able to pick at peak ripeness.
This Shiraz is a complex blend due to various ripening conditions of different grape parcels picked. The juice was fermented using carefully selected cultures which promote fruit and spice characters. For 12 months, two thirds of this wine was matured in old French oak, the remainder was matured with new French oak to provide complexity and contribute lovely vanillin notes. A dash of Cabernet Sauvignon was added to the final blend to provide a black cherry perfume lift and further complexity on the palate.
