Ladies who Shoot their Lunch Riesling

Pale straw.

Citrus blossom and lime, layered with rich almond nougat.

Refreshing kumquat, lemon and lime with a touch of vanilla and almond from old oak. Textured minerality and a fresh citrus crunch to finish.

2020 was a warm vintage with low yields providing excellent fruit quality. The fruit was harvested on a cool morning in March when it showed a good balance of sugar and natural acidity. The Riesling skins developed more intense colour than usual and this can be seen in the resulting wine.

The fruit was picked using a selective process harvester in early March 2020, from block 13.5 at our Upton Run vineyard in the Strathbogie Ranges. The grapes were destemmed and gently crushed to help create a more delicate wine. The juice was fermented on solids in French oak to add texture and complexity. Specifically selected cultured yeast was used to promote primary fruit aromas in the finished blend. The wine was put back into old French oak barrels for four months just before bottling to add richness and mouth feel.
