Medium bodied with dusty tannins that give great structure and a tight finish. Flavours of juicy black currant, liquorice and mixed herbs.
2017 was one of the coolest vintages for many years. These slow ripening conditions were excellent for Cabernet which was not picked until mid May. Our very last block of Cabernet was not picked until June! The long hang time on the vine has produced an elegant Cabernet with great varietal character.
We blended this wine with the unusual variety of Saperavi which provides rich juicy soft fruits to the mid palate. The wine was matured in a combination of French (60%) and American (40%) oak.
