Bright cherry red.
Wild strawberry, cherry and savoury notes of bracken and earth..
Medium bodied, cool climate Pinot Noir with red fruits, raspberry and hints of earhty spice.
2019 was yet another record breaking warm season. Dry and hot conditions made for low yields and high quality fruit. Pinot ripens very quickly in these temperatures so with attention to detail we were able to pick at peak flavour and perfect ripeness.
This wine is made from fruit from our two family vineyards, Upton Run and Billis in the Strathbogie Ranges. Fermented with wild yeasts, matured for 5 months in new (20%) and old (80%) French oak, and finished off with a dash of Sangiovese (15%) added to the final blend. The Sangiovese provides complex dusty tannins in the wine, helps brighten the red hues of colour and adds a savoury quality on the palate.
