Palate
A medium bodied Chardonnay with elegant oak structure. Complex flavours of apple and nectarine, enhanced with hints of fresh citrus, oak spice and minerality on the crisp and lengthy finish.
2022 will be one of the great vintages of Strathbogie Chadonnay. A cooler year with late top-ups of rain resulted in significantly lower yields of fruit but of a very high quality and depth of flavour. We harvested at different times throughout the season to achieve the full spectrum of varietal notes from citrus through to tropical. Fill your cellar with Strathbogie Chardonnay in 2022!
The grapes for this wine were picked from block 16 of our Upton Run vineyard. Some of the finest barrels, with the best representation of site, place and season, were selected for wild fermentation while others were fermented with a neutral yeast in stainless steel, to promote pure fruit characteristics.
