Deep purple with ruby hues.
Intense aromas of blackberry, cassis and raisins with hints of nutmeg and vanilla oak notes.
Full bodied and powerful with flavours of juicy blackberries combined with licquorice, mint chocolate. Mouth-coating tannins give a full and firm finish.
2018 was an excellent vintage. A mild to warm season, and moderate rainfall at the right times made for ideal growing conditions. With balanced canopies and fruit loads, the warm ripening season allowed balanced development of sugar, flavour and tannin.
The fruit was kept on skins for eight days of fermentation to achieve a balance or primary fruit and savoury tannin complexity. The wine was then matured (100%) in barrel in some of the finest French oak.
