Deep ruby red.
Dark cherries, blueberry and clove spice with hints of caramel and vanilla from oak.

2020 was a warm vintage with low yields, providing excellent fruit quality. Sangiovese grapes thrive in warm conditions, so we were able to pick the fruit when it had a lovely balance of sugar, flavour and tannin.
Sangiovese fruit was harvested from our Upton Run block in the Strathbogie Ranges. After being gently crushed, the juice was kept on skins for six days of fermentation in small tanks to achieve savoury tannin complexity. A cultured yeast was specifically selected to enhance spice and fruity flavours in the wine. To provide elegant oak character without dominating the fruit, the wine was matured in French and American oak barrels.
