Light salmon pink.
Lifted aromas of wild strawberry and fresh red fruits.
Lightly fruit driven, with a fresh, clean palate and some crisp, quenching citrus on the dry finish.
Mother nature gave us a huge crop of Sangiovese this year. Given the cool conditions of the 2021 vintage, we had to
wait until the very last day of harvest to pick these grapes, whereas traditionally rosé is of the first to be harvested. The cooler weather allowed the fruit to ripen slowly, and the resulting wine is intense in flavour.
The fruit for this wine was harvested from Block 13.6 on our Upton Run Vineyard. It was harvested using a selective process harvester in mid-April 2021. The fruit was pressed off immediately, with minimal skin contact to produce a lighter coloured Rose. The wine was then fermented with yeast selected to promote fresh citrus aromas. The wine was then matured in stainless steel tanks to maintain the vibrant fruity aromas and flavours of the Sangiovese grape.
