Vibrant red fruits, oak spice, earthy mushroom and hints of anise.
Medium bodied with a melody of savoury red fruit flavours and fine and dusty tannins that linger on the smooth finish.
2018 was an excellent vintage. A mild to warm season, and moderate rainfall at the right times made for ideal growing conditions. With balanced canopies and fruit loads, the warm ripening season allowed balanced development of sugar, flavour and tannin.
The fruit was kept on skins for 10 days of fermentation to achieve savoury tannin complexity. The wine was then matured for 12 months in French oak barrels to provide elegant oak character without dominating the fruit.
