Success at Victorian Wines Show!
Fowles Wine attended the Victorian Wine Show presentation lunch hosted by James Halliday, at Mitchelton Wines, to celebrate the culmination of the 2015 competition.
This year saw the best and brightest from across Victoria enter the show. Robert Paul, Director of this year’s Victorian Wine Show stated “This means increased competition for the top awards, a more diverse range of wines and styles, and a genuine representation of the best that Victoria has to offer”.
Amongst this tough competition, Fowles Wine had a spectacular showing collecting seven Gold medals and two Trophies from a total of 16 medals, for our current and soon to be released wines, as well as one premium museum wine.
One of the most pleasing results from the show was the recognition of Riesling grown in the Strathbogie Ranges. Our soon to be released Stone Dwellers 2015 Riesling was awarded a Gold medal in the ‘current vintage’ category. And in the aged Riesling category we won two Trophies and a further two Gold medals, highlighting the outstanding quality of Riesling grown up our way and the ability of these wines to age gracefully.
