Vibrant pale straw.
Aromatic citrus blossom and fresh pear layered with hints of lemongrass.
Zesty lemon and lime, nashi pear and a hint of saline minerality on the dry, crisp and textural finish.
2022 was cooler year with late top-ups of rain. This allowed the Riesling fruit to develop slowly and the flavour accumulation and acid retention was excellent, providing fantastic acid drive and length in the wine. Yields were lower than normal, leading to great quality and larger bunches and berries than normal led to a delicate and delicious Riesling.
The fruit was picked using a selective process harvester on the 22 March 2022 from block 13.5 at our Upton Run vineyard. The grapes were destemmed and gently crushed to help create a more delicate wine. The juice was wild fermented in barrels to add texture and complexity.
