Single Vineyard, Strathbogie Ranges 2018 was an outstanding vintage for both red and white varieties. It is the kind of vintage you see once in a decade. Vines began the season with reasonable soil moisture from 2017's wet season With balanced canopies and fruit load, the warm ripening season without any severe heat waves provided ideal ripening conditions.
The fruit for this wine was kept on skins for 8 days of fermentation to achieve a balance of primary fruit and savoury tannin complexity. We matured the wine in 2 year old French oak to allow for vivid expression of fruit with just a hint of oak in the background.
