Oak spice, earthy mushroom and hints of cherry.
Medium bodied with a melody of savoury notes intermingled with sophisticated flavours of plum and cherry, supported by fine and dusty tannins and soft acidity.
2019 was yet another record-breaking warm season. Dry and hot conditions made for low yields and high-quality fruit. We were able to pick the grapes when they had developed a nice balanced of sugar, flavour and tannin.
The fruit was kept on skins for 13 days of fermentation to achieve savoury tannin complexity. The wine was then matured in American oak barrels to provide elegant oak character without dominating the fruit.
