Stone Dwellers

Stone Dwellers 2018 Chardonnay wine bottle

Stone Dwellers Single Vineyard Collection is a range of wines grown in our family vineyards in the Strathbogie Ranges. Cloudless days, cool nights and ancient granite terroir allow our grapes to gradually develop intense aromas and award winning flavours for which our region is famous for.

Matured in a range of French oak puncheons from different coopers, spending 9 months on yeast lees during this time providing the creamy, soft mid palate. 30% of the wine was in new barrels with the remainder in 3 year old puncheons.

This Chardonnay is pale straw in colour with a tinge of green. Perfumed aromas of peach, nectarine are interlaced with hints of brioche and lemon tart, and honey toasted oak. A medium to full bodied Chardonnay with lovely stone fruits, a creamy texture, complex integrated oak and a ripe Chablis style.

"Fruit forward with a soft and creamy mid palate and superb French oak complexity" - Victor Nash, Chief Winemaker

2018 was an excellent vintage. A mild to warm season, and moderate rainfall at the right times made for ideal growing conditions. We picked the grapes at 12.7Be which is an ideal level of sugar for a medium to full bodied Chardonnay.
