Winemaking

This Chardonnay was harvested in early March 2021, with 85% of fruit coming from block 16 of our Upton Run vineyard. Grapes were harvested using a selective harvester, in the cool of the night, so as to retain the delicate fruit flavours. A large portion of this vintage was wild fermented in stainless steel to preserve the fantastic varietal characteristics, then transferred into older oak barrels to create a complex, yet fresh wine with plenty of stone fruit flavours.

Nose

White peach and stone fruit, with mandarin, lemon and a hint of flinty oak.

Palate

Medium bodied with flavours of fresh nectarine, grapefruit and pear, with a soft, creamy palate complimented by textural oak.
