Winemaking

The grapes for this wine were picked from various blocks from the same vineyard, to create a complex and balanced wine. The different parcels of fruit from each block were separately crushed, left on skins for an average of 10 days and fermented in stainless steel to preserve primary fruit flavours. This wine was matured in a combination of both predominantly older (95%) French and American 500L oak barrels for 15 months before final blending.

Nose

Rich red berries and dark plums melded hints of mint, pepper and tobacco leaf.

Palate

Complex layers of intense dark fruits, blueberry and savoury spiced oak with a hint of charcuterie and velvety tannins on a smooth and lengthy finish.
